Silicone family additive agents SILFACE

Silface is a wetting/penetrating agent with the basic structure of silicone. It is used in a wide range of fields that require paint film formation. The addition of a small amount of this product resolves problems stemming from insufficient wetting properties and foam. In addition, it has other effects as well, including making paint film surfaces harder to damage.

Characteristics of SILFACE SAG Series products

Silface SAG products reduce the contact angle between the coating to which they are added and the substrate to a certain extent, regardless of the changes in the ratio of water to solvent.

- The effect of adding SILFACE SAG products to propylene glycol-water systems

In waterborne coatings and waterborne inks containing both water and an organic solvent as the solvent, solvents will evaporate in ascending order of their boiling point while drying after being coated onto a low wettability material. The composition of the solvent, that is, the ratio of water to the organic solvent, changes during the drying process.

SILFACE SAG014 and SAG503A are highly effective additives for propylene glycol-water systems because they can provide the effect of reducing the contact angle between the coating to which they are added and the substrate to a certain extent, regardless of the changes in the ratio of water to solvent.
